Orientation workshop on " Let's learn to share manual labour".

 

"Do we need a holistic change in our country? Then develop a habit of doing your work by yourself and also share the hard manual labour of the manual workers" said S.Kulandaisamy, Secretary of the Chennai based Gandhi Peace Foundation.

He and his three team members, Gilda, Shenbagavalli and Chander  conducted this workshop in the Chairman Manickavasagam Middle School at Devakottai using story telling, monoacting, skits and interaction.

L.Chockalingam, the Headmaster presided and emphasised on imparting Gandhian Values to our youth. The Best Teacher awardee Bhagiratha Nachiappan, IOB retired Manager Anantaraman, Gandhian constructive worker, Urumathan were present.

The children were encouraged to explore the importance of coming forward voluntarily to work atleast in a small way for effecting a change instead of blaming, complaining, gossiping but accept one's mistakes.

This awareness made children to spontaneously pledge not to urinate in the public, throw garbage but be responsible for their mistakes, though they are small. 

Muthian, Rajeswari of class 3 & 5 were honoured with shawls for their innocent pledge making.

Teacher Muthumeenal welcomed the guests. Teacher Selvameenal offered vote of thanks.
